COLOMBIA | Single Origin Espresso | Woman-Owned Farm
This coffee is very important to us and we are extremely proud of it as it is the first coffee we have been able to import directly. During the winter of 2023, we spent time in Colombia with the purpose of visiting different plantations, getting to know the families, and trying their coffee to select one for direct import.
We are happy to have met the family that produces our coffee, visited their finca, had conversations with them, and continue to keep in touch. When we arrived at the finca, we were greeted with warm smiles, the girls took us to visit the plantations, telling us their story and giving us technical information about the harvest. Later, Mrs. Mariela showed us the house and the places where they work and store the coffee, ending it all with a rich coffee break together. It is important for us to know the origin of the product we offer and exactly how much they will be paid for the coffee we purchased.
The coffee in question is grown by the Bautista Contreras family in the "El Diamante" finca located in the municipality of Toledo in the Norte de Santander region of Colombia, at an altitude of 1850 meters above sea level. In the cup, it has chocolate notes, a good body, and sweet hints of vanilla.
Given its characteristics, this coffee is suitable for different extraction methods such as moka and espresso. In this case, we have chosen to create a medium-dark roast profile suitable for espresso and moka.
Notes: chocolate, sweet, good body, vanilla.
Processing method: Washed
Variety: Castillo
Producer: Mariela Bautista, finca el diamante
